Artemis named a 2026-2027 Fortune Cyber 60 winner

Artemis is recognized as a winner in its first year of operations, as security teams move to AI-native defense against AI-powered attacks.

Artemis Security has been named to the 2026-2027 Fortune Cyber 60, the annual list of the most promising, fastest-growing cybersecurity startups, presented by Lightspeed Venture Partners and AWS in partnership with Fortune. Artemis made the list in its first year of operations.

AI-powered attacks will be the cyber problem of the decade

Across the environments Artemis defends, suspicious and malicious AI-enhanced activity rose 312% between April and September 2026. These attacks move faster than a security team can follow, and they can try many attack paths at once. This summer, AI models autonomously breached real companies during lab evaluations. And just last week, attackers weaponized the PHP2Shell exploit within 30 minutes of its public release, as attackers increasingly use AI to weaponize exploits and run attacks in minutes.

Artemis is the AI-native security operations platform built to detect and stop AI-powered attacks. Artemis connects to more than 270 sources across cloud, identity, endpoint, and SaaS, and builds a live model of every user, device, account, resource, and AI agent in a customer’s environment. On that model, Artemis runs autonomous detection engineering, threat hunting, investigation, and response as one platform.

Built with our customers

This recognition belongs first and foremost to our customers. Some of the world’s most AI-native companies and Fortune 500 security teams run their security operations on Artemis, including Cursor and Lemonade, which both replaced their legacy SIEMs with Artemis.

  • Cursor: Artemis correlates more than 35 log sources, investigates every alert around the clock, and resolves 96% of investigations autonomously, with the evidence attached.
  • Lemonade: Artemis keeps a live picture of more than 500,000 assets across cloud, identity, and data, and runs thousands of investigations automatically every month.

“I deal with many, many security products. I’ve seen a lot. In 30 years, I’ve not come across a product that quickly showed me so much value. I love Artemis.”

Jonathan Jaffe, CISO, Lemonade

Shipping at the pace security teams deserve

Our close partnership with customers helps shape everything Artemis builds. The Artemis team has merged more than 50,000 pull requests this year, including more than 12,000 so far in October. This month alone brought a steady stream of launches. Among them:

  • Orion-1: the leading frontier foundation model trained for cyber defense, now in private preview with Artemis customers.
  • Detection as Code: Artemis acts as an autonomous detection engineer on a customer’s team, writing and tuning detections in a repository the customer controls and opening a pull request for every change.

On top of that, Artemis delivers new coverage to customers every day. Artemis has now built nearly 40,000 custom detectors for customers, up from 300 in March. Each detector is built automatically for the environment it protects and tuned as that environment changes.

How the Cyber 60 is built

Lightspeed evaluated more than 300 venture-backed cybersecurity startups and sorted them by annual recurring revenue and by current and prior-year growth. Lightspeed then validated each company’s self-reported data, reviewed its business operations, and added nominations after consulting its CISO Council. Fortune reviewed and validated the final list.

Thank you to Fortune and Lightspeed for the recognition, and congratulations to the other great companies on this year’s list. See the full list at fortune.com/ranking/cyber/2027.
